Job summary
Here at St. Albans City Hospital (SACH) Theatres we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dynamic theatre practitioners to join our friendly, professional multi-disciplinary team. We offer rotational opportunities for staff in order for them to develop and/or maintain their skills.
We welcome both Registered Nurses and ODPs alike.
Applicants will need to possess good interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within the existing theatre teams whilst also having the ability to work under their own initiative.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the management and organisation of the operative list and clinical care.
Be responsible for the efficient communication of changes within the operating department to all members of the multidisciplinary theatre team.
Undertake the safe and efficient transfer of patients to other hospitals.
Demonstrate clear leadership qualities in order to perform day to day managerial tasks, including allocation of staff etc.
Theatres requires a quick thinker, fast responder who has good organisation skills.
We are looking for a team player who likes a challenge and can respond in an emergency situation.

Maintenance and support of specialist equipment.
Have relevant skills in the anaesthetic care needs of the patient both adult and paediatrics.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will deputise for the Senior Sister and/or Charge Nurse in their absence with regard to the operational management of clinical service delivery at unit level.
You will provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.
The successful candidate will contribute to the learning and development culture within the renal department, providing learning opportunities and assessment for staff.
You will also assess dialysis patients with their health and wellbeing needs, implementing care programmes accordingly. This includes interpreting the information available to identify the short and long term needs and risks.
The successful candidate may be based at either the CKC Dialysis Centre or Lister Hospital, or work across both sites, promoting Home Haemodialysis (HHD) options and supporting HHD patients.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Respiratory Care is an advanced practice nurse who provides expert clinical leadership, specialist assessment, and evidence-based interventions to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Main duties of the job
This post has a base as their main site at Blackthorn Health Centre. On a rolling basis, you will also work in our Urgent Care Centre which is at Bursledon Surgery. This is on a fair share rota. In the same way, you will be our "operational director" around once every 3-4 weeks. This means you are the clinical lead for the urgent care centre in the practice. This requires a longer working day (8am to 6.30pm).
Routine care is generally 13 appointments in the morning and 12 in the afternoon. Mornings are generally 8am-1pm, and afternoons 2pm-6pm. We are a single practice Primary Care Network. We have visiting paramedics, so apart from terminal care, visits are rare. You will be responsible for the prescriptions, pathology results and incoming correspondence for your list size. On average, you will manage around 40 prescriptions a week, 20 results a week, and 5 letters a week per session. We have robust processes in place to support prescribing and document workflow.

Blackthorn Health Centre and Hedge End Medical Centre have merged and are now known as Hamble Valley Health. Our list size is over 37000, and our patients are mainly concentrated in Hamble, Bursledon, Hedge End and Botley. Our aim is to provide high quality, accessible medical care to our patients, whilst maintaining a supportive and pleasant working environment for clinicians and staff.
We are part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB and offer General Medical Services to our patients.
We are a training practice and take registrar doctors and also teach medical students from Southampton School of Medicine.

SMART stands for surgical and medical acute response team. The SMART nurse will work within the existing team and be a clinically credible nurse who is proficient and experienced in looking after the critically ill and deteriorating patient. Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated nurse to become part of a well-established and progressive Ophthalmology team.We are a busy outpatient's department undertaking the assessment and care of Ophthalmic patients, by continually adapting the service to meet and enhance the care we provide to our patients. The MMU moves weekly between Basingstoke, Farnborough, Aldershot and Camberley and the ETC ward at Heatherwood. The post holder will rotate between all clinical areas within this very busy fast paced speciality working 3-5 shifts a week between 0700-2000 Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work required

Main duties of the job
You will be a registered /Midwife with current NMC registration, experience of working as a Midwife in the NHS and interest in reproductive health and neonatal Unit care. You will have worked in either a Midwifery setting or Neonatal Unit/transitional care within the UK and familiar with current guidance and demonstrate a broad range of nursing and midwifery skills.

You will need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and effectively manage your own time to fulfil these key responsibilities whilst also linking in with other team members to enable support for each other.
The post will be based across both Burnley General Teaching and Royal Blackburn Hospitals as the team supports activity across both sites. However, there may be occasions where travel to other ELHT sites is necessary as per service need therefore flexibility is an essential attribute.
Most of the research activity is undertaken Monday to Friday within normal hours- however, times may also vary and early starts (7.30am onwards) and late finishes (after 5pm) may be required. There is also a possibility that you may support some studies where night/weekend working is needed, although this is not common at present.

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join the Research Team which will be based at the Horton General Hospital with expectation of supporting research activity at the Headington Hospitals. Job responsibilities
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under the Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) organisation, delivering Primary Health Care (PHC) services and elements of Occupational Health and Health Promotion to the Defence Medical Services (DMS) entitled Population at Risk (PAR).
To be responsible to the Senior Medical Officer / Lead Clinician / Senior Nurse and provide routine clinics as directed to meet the needs of the organisation and the PAR.
To be involved in the development and implementation of programmes of care/ service delivery within their scope of practice; utilising Information Systems (IS) to interrogate/support clinical audit and conduct service evaluations.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care of patients in the provision of nurse led clinics, including communication with senior clinicians, outside agencies and disciplines as required.
To contribute to, and if acting as the Lead Nurse to co-ordinate, in association with the Senior Nurse / Lead Clinician, the line management, supervision and development of other nurses / untrained personnel and ensure individuals work within their individual scope of practice.
To undertake and remain in date for all mandatory training as set out in the most current DPHC Guidance Note entitled Mandatory Training for Locums, Agency Staff and single Service personnel working within DPHC.
To maintain patient safety and support and promote healthcare governance activity.
To undertake training and demonstrate competence to issue medications via Patient Group Directives (PGDs) and Patient Specific Directions (PSDs), in accordance with Joint Service Policy and as determined appropriate by the Senior Nurse / Lead Clinician.

Qualifications
Essential
- Must be Registered Nurse (Adult) Level 1 with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and hold a valid, in date Personal Identification Number (PIN) and not be subject to any restrictions of practice
- Must hold current, valid personal medical indemnity insurance.
- Must have a minimum of two years post registration experience in PHC practice.
- Must have a minimum of one years post registration in a Band 6 or higher grade in a Primary Healthcare (PHC) setting (within the last three years).
- Must be in date for Basic Life Support (BLS), Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and be able to provide certification.
- Must have completed Immunisation and Vaccination Foundation Training in accordance with national immunisation and vaccination standard training requirements (Public Health England) and either:
- a. be able to provide certification; or
- b. be able to provide proof of clinical competency of the same from a previous employer or Line Manager, who is a current and practicing GMC or NMC Registrant, for Immunisation and Vaccinations (dated within the last 12 months).
- Must be in date for Immunisation and Vaccination annual update e-learning training (to include young children if engaged within a family practice) and be able to provide certification.
- Must be in date and able to provide certificates of training/qualification/update, as undertaken within the last three years, and/or be able to provide proof of clinical competency of the same from a previous employer or Line Manager, who is a current and practicing GMC or NMC Registrant, for:
- -Venepuncture
- -Travel Health
- -Minor Injuries
- -Minor Illness / Common PHC Presentations Essentials of Chronic Disease Management/Long Term Conditions (Asthma; COPD; CHD; Diabetes; CVD; Hypothyroid)
- -Evaluation of the deteriorating patient e.g. use of Medical Early Warning Systems (MEWS).
- -Child Health in Primary Care (only if working in a families practice as identified in the Demand Order)
- -Cervical Cytology Sample Taking (only if working in a Medical Facility where an essential requirement / skill gap is identified within the Demand Order)
- -Preparation for Mentorship; Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice (SLAiP); Mentorship and Assessment in Practice; Clinical Supervision or equivalent
- -Travel health.
- Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
