Location: North West Tasmania
Position Type: Multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions available. Shift worker (fully rotational), commencing as soon as possible. *hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation contribution.
Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for eligible UK/IE candidates.
The Position
Join the team in Wombat Ward at North West Regional Hospital and help deliver exceptional care to children and young people across Tasmania's North West. Wombat Ward is a 16-bed Level 3 paediatric inpatient unit caring for patients aged 0-17 years across:
General Paediatrics
Surgery
Orthopaedics
Mental Health
Working alongside experienced nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals, you'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and their families.
What You'll Do
Deliver high-quality, family-centred paediatric nursing care.
Support children and families throughout their healthcare journey.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Maintain clinical documentation and patient records.
Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
Support and mentor students and junior staff.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a compassionate and capable Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality care to children, young people and their families.
You will have:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
Current knowledge of nursing principles, procedures and practices, and the ability to apply them in line with relevant legislation and the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to safe, patient-centred care.
The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Flexibility to work across a fully rotational roster and support service delivery as required.
Working with Children Check/Registration
Postgraduate qualifications in Paediatric Nursing (desirable)

The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice, works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager and the Paediatric Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care on a designated shift, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
Responsibilities:
Deliver acute inpatient-based mental health care coordination to paediatric consumers of the service, which includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, active, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using arrange of modalities and techniques, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), with focus collaboration with family and carers and trauma informed care.
Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures are met to promote a consumer-focused model of care, according to best practice principles.
Assist the Nurse Unit Manager and the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the management and coordination of resources as required.
