An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse within the Endoscopy Unit .
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopy Junior Senior/ Nurse to help and support the staff and the unit.
The PRUH has an established endoscopy unit with two procedure rooms and a 3rdwithin Radiology for all Endoscopy procedures under Fluoroscopy. We perform all Endoscopic procedures including Enteroscopy, Video capsule Endoscopy, Endoscopy Ultrasound service (EUS), Trans Nasal Endoscopy (TNE) and Bronchoscopy and Endo Bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and Pre assessment.
The current unit is extremely efficient with an excellent productivity record. In order to facilitate the further development of the service, a business case has been approved to expand the endoscopy facilities at the PRUH to a six roomed standalone elective unit whilst retaining the main hospital rooms for inpatient and therapeutic procedures. This incredibly exciting project is set to be completed this year.
We are looking for someone who has the motivation, drive and commitment to help deliver an outstanding endoscopy service. You will work as a professional role model, demonstrating flexibility, excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of team.
Main duties of the job
- Exhibit specific skills in the management of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. This will include undertaking assessment, education and counselling wherever appropriate.
- Assist with the development of the pre-assessment service.
- Actively contribute to the pre-assessment service; this includes the Non- GA service.
- Work closely with the Senior Sister's, Band 5 Nurses, Health Care Assistants, wider endoscopy team, colorectal team, pathology, radiology and cancer services in the trust and have a strong clinical commitment to the Endoscopy service.
- Be responsible for providing the nursing contribution within the Endoscopy Service in accordance with local and national specifications. This includes cross site responsibility.
- Collaborative working with a large multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of the Endoscopy service. It will also extend to ensure full service provision which includes rotation to the on call emergency GI Bleed Nursing rota.

The Band 6 Sister is expected to be an experienced nurse showing professional & personal development. Job summary
We are seeking a nurse interested in contributing to clinical research across a range of specialties to join our dynamic cross divisional team. Based at Cambridge University Hospitals (Addenbrookes), you will support the delivery of NIHR portfolio studies under the guidance of the Research Nurse Team Leader. You will be involved in a range of activities, identifying potential participants, providing patient information and support, co-ordinating study procedures and collecting data. With opportunities for involvement in all research aspects across many specialties, this is an ideal post for nurses with previous clinical research experience. Applicants with extensive clinical expertise, evidence of CPD activities and a willingness to learn will also be considered. We can offer a comprehensive training programme, ongoing support and actively encourage continuing professional development.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the provision of high quality, participant focused clinical research for the Cross Divisional Research Delivery Team. They would be responsible for identifying eligible research participants, providing information and support, study recruitment and consent, co-ordination of study treatments / interventions, assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care and data collection according to study protocols in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (R3), EU Clinical Trials Legislation and the NHS research governance framework. They would also provide specialist advice and support to other staff.

The Paediatric Emergency Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital and the Childrens Urgent Care Centre at South Tyneside are looking to recruit a motivated and dynamic qualified childrens nurse to join their team in delivering quality urgent and emergency nursing care to the paediatric population.
The successful candidate will be joining a team of over 70 experienced qualified nurses, nurse practitioners and health care assistants who see and treat in excess of 40,000 patients across both sites each year and will be involved in all aspects of nursing care to children with conditions ranging from minor trauma through to major medical presentations.
This is an exciting time for individual development as we respond to the evolving demand of urgent and emergency care delivery across Sunderland and South Tyneside. The post holder will be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital but will rotate between the Paediatric Emergency Department at SRH and the Childrens Urgent Care Unit at South Tyneside District Hospital on a regular basis to enhance their skills and knowledge in care delivery to children requiring non-urgent, urgent and emergency treatment.
Main duties of the job
Duties of the post include; triage and assessment, caring for children in the high acuity area/high dependency rooms/resuscitation room, administering medications, carrying out physiological observations and responding to changes within these, applying treatments and dressings, health promotion, nurse led discharge for a limited range of conditions, distraction and play therapy and applying longer term care in the short stay assessment unit.
Personal development opportunities can be gained through in-house training, simulation training and external courses including PILS, APLS, NLS, clinical skills and leadership modules. Job summary
We are looking to recruit an Mental Health Nurse prescriber who will work within the South West Herts Enhanced Primary Care Monitoring service to provide support and intervention to children and young people with ADHD (as well as co-morbidities) between the ages of 6 and 18.
The post holder will be confident in completing ADHD medication reviews utilising specialist nursing skills and using clinical interview techniques in order to ascertain a childs response to medication and manage potential side effects. They will be expected to be confident in ascertaining potential symptoms of co-morbidity such as ASD, mental health needs or physical health concerns and document information accurately and refer to appropriate local services.
You will be experienced in titrating ADHD medication in children and young adults and confident with the formulary.
Main duties of the job
This is a clinic-based role, and you will carry out holistic assessments of patients referred as appropriate by HPFT into this primary care monitoring service. Clinics are based within the 4 localities of West Herts, Dacorum, St Albans, Hertsmere and Watford and 3 Rivers, this role will be based across 2-3 sites.
Apply knowledge of behavioural management strategies and evaluate responses to these and medication.
Ability to communicate orally, electronically and in writing with children, young people, and families.
Correspond with GP supervisors in the team, multi professional agencies, families, children services and voluntary/ statutory services. Attend weekly MDT meetings with senior team to discuss and review caseload regularly.
Knowledge of referral pathway for complex cases.

Were seeking experienced and motivated Resident Doctors in Critical Care to join our expert medical team. Youll work closely with Consultants and Specialist Nurses across our Level 3 Adult Critical Care Unit and general wards, ensuring that every patient receives exceptional, timely, and safe care.

PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for the clinical assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment and/or referral of patients within urgent care services, identifying complex and specialist needs and will develop, implement and evaluate programmes/plans of care.
Working as an Emergency Care Practitioner with a high degree of autonomy, the post holder will manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed minor injuries and minor illness, using advanced clinical skills within own sphere of competence.
Providing direct consultations which dependent upon competency and area of practice, may be via telephone or face to face.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the team and external providers, to ensure the right care, by the right person, at the right time and in the right place. Practitioners will aim to enable individuals to maintain or regain independence or ensure a plan is in place for them to achieve their optimum personal potential and to prevent unnecessary hospital admission.
The post holder will demonstrate a commitment to providing a quality, evidence based service, excellence in clinical practice, this together with continuous professional development are integral to the role and development of the service.

The service operates during practice opening hours, which may change depending on local guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POST
- Recognised professional degree or equivalent
- Postgraduate study at Masters level
- Registered with appropriate professional regulatory body
- Relevant post registration qualification in autonomous practice or equivalent.
- Evidence of relevant post registration experience
- Independent Prescribing or evidence of working to PGDs with advanced knowledge (AHPs)
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of primary and urgent care issues

Competency Standard 1 - The roles of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner
The ANP is expected to:
- The post holder will take a lead role in the advanced clinical assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and /or referral/discharge of a diverse and undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, in accordance with professional standards and codes of conduct, national best practice and locally and nationally agreed standards.
- Will act as a credible expert, leading a team in the care of patients, who may have highly complex and or/ chronic presentation, developing, evidencing high-level assessment, assimilation of information implementing and evaluating personalised clinical management plans.
- Undertaking appropriate investigations to formulate a diagnosis implement and evaluate treatment/ interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis, complex needs or long term conditions.
- Prescribing within the boundaries of extended non-medical prescribing
- The post holder will provide critical thinking and analytical skills in practice, and attainment of knowledge, and use their experience to support practitioners in the development of their own skills and knowledge.
- To act as a role model, resource and mentor, promoting excellence in practice, maintaining and monitoring standards of care, highlighting and working with others as appropriate to manage performance where there is cause for concern. Both providing and participate in clinical supervision and undertaking peer review of practice.
- Support the collation of the training needs analysis, promoting learning and creating a positive learning environment.
- Participate in quality improvement, supports the development of service improvements, and also utilises knowledge of clinical governance to provide safe and effective services to individuals.
- Provides support, advice, guidance and training to patients, families and carers, to promote the understanding and consent to care.
- Access's research and interprets research, identifies gaps in practice, utilises appropriate evidence bases to support practice development and applies research evidence into working practice.

The Emergency Care Practitioner is expected to:
- Produce, develop and maintain a Personal Development Plan, know where you can get personal support and be aware of how others can help review and prioritise your personal development needs
- Understand why feedback from others is important in helping to develop and improve the way you work
- Use learning opportunities and reflective practice to contribute to personal development whilst also understanding the importance of reflective practice to continuously improve the quality of service you provide
- Participate in clinical supervision as a means to improving the quality of care to patients.
- Acknowledge own limitations, consciously reviews practice (mistakes / omissions/successes) to improve performance, reports any concerns regarding patient care, Identifies risks which could affect patient care
- Participates in staff development review and continuous professional development
- Challenge poor practice and be open to challenges by others.
- Plan, provide and evaluate the learning environment for pre-registered, post registered nurses and others as applicable; participates in the professional development of healthcare support workers.
- Act as a supervisor, mentor or preceptor as required.

- Demonstrate professional conduct as defined by your professional code of conduct preserving patient rights and promoting mutual respect amongst colleagues.
