Job summary

Main duties of the job

This may include (but is not limited to) clinical innovation, use of technology, local regeneration projects and safeguarding. Operational and administrative duties Utilise educational evaluations to commission the most cost-effective learning opportunities for units/departments staff. Monitor expenditure and the use of resources for training and development and make recommendations for future expenditure. Maintain own records of sickness, absence, annual leave and study leave in accordance with Trust Policy. Respond promptly to emerging clinical needs, complaints, and incidents and develop and participate in appropriate action plans in line with clinical governance. Leadership and Management Responsibilities (if relevant) To standardise and oversee local inductions for new staff members and ensure all processes are uniform across the service. Support the team leaders with line management for skill mixed teams, including supervision, appraisal and supporting clinical practice on request. Facilitate staff to competently undertake health promotion and disease prevention including the review of educational resources needed. Proactively promote understanding and knowledge of diverse needs of babies, children and families from different ethnic backgrounds. Facilitate and participate in research projects and use findings to change practice where appropriate. Together with Team leaders participate in recruitment and selection process of staff. Incorporate, promote and engage in Public Participation Initiatives within the service Manage own workload and projects. Handle complaints, accidents and incidents as required or instructed, in accordance with Trust policies. Ensure patient confidentiality is always maintained. Palliative Care Senior Staff Nurse
Woking and Sam Beare Hospices In Patient Unit is looking for a passionate dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Registered Nurse to join our incredible team.
Here at the hospice, we pride our selves on giving exceptionally high standards of care to patients and their families through some of the most challenging times of their lives. In our IPU, in their own homes and in our Wellbeing Centre. Our charity-based service specialises in palliative and end of life care for patients with complex life limiting illnesses who live in the North West Surrey area.

Job summary
Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful difference to patients and families at one of the most important times in their lives? We are looking for a Community Staff Nurse to join our Hospice at Home team, supporting the delivery of specialist palliative and end-of-life care across North West Surrey.
Working as part of our Community Services Team, you will help patients receive high-quality, personalised care in their own homes and communities, enabling them to achieve their preferred place of care wherever possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your clinical skills, develop your palliative care experience and work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will provide holistic assessment, care planning, symptom management, emotional support and practical care for patients with specialist palliative and end-of-life care needs. You will work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists, GPs, District Nursing Teams and other professionals to coordinate safe, responsive and person-centred care.
You will also maintain accurate clinical records, support families and carers, contribute to bereavement support where appropriate, and act as a positive clinical role model for junior colleagues, students and new team members.
About you
We are looking for a registered nurse with post-registration experience, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering compassionate, dignified and patient-centred care. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and respond sensitively to the needs of patients, families and carers.
Experience in palliative care, oncology, community nursing or multi-agency working would be an advantage, although we are equally interested in hearing from nurses who can demonstrate transferable skills, a willingness to learn and a passion for hospice care.
