Specialist midwives are crucial to supporting women with mental health , drug and alcohol issues. They ensure that the correct services and support are put in place which will then go on to have huge benefits for families , babies and children .
Main duties of the job
The team works closely with the mental health teams across Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust and facilitates perinatal mental health clinics alongside the perinatal mental health psychiatrists and mental health care coordinators.
Coordination and liaison is a vital component of the team's role as the team work alongside numerous agencies across the Greater Manchester footprint including the drugs and alcohol services , IAPT , community mental health teams , infant and parenting services , health visiting teams and cross boundary midwifery services
Safeguarding is a significant part of the teams role as they write reports for and attend professionals meeting , strategy meetings , initial child protection conferences , core groups, child in need meeting and discharge planning meeting .
The team are visible and accessible and are a resource for all staff providing evidence based advice ,support and information

What is a DBS Check?

Enhanced DBS: Includes the above, plus any additional information held by local police thats considered relevant to the role.
Enhanced with Barred Lists: Includes all of the above, plus checks against the childrens and/or adults barred lists.
Who Needs a DBS Check

The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.

This role provides support to patients and their family and loved ones at an often distressing time . It involves the assessment , management and treatment of both alcohol and drug withdrawal, with highest priority given to safe care and liaising with out community partners . Acknowledgement must be given that this work encompasses a high level of both adult and children's safe-guarding.
An important part of the role is the provision of an education programme to staff across the organisation empowering them to support this expanding patient group and recognise signs and symptoms that further specialist support is needed. We are also involved in the student education programme and are also a Spoke Placement for 2nd and 3rd year students.

Main duties of the job
As a Substance Misuse Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide substance misuse clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
- Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
- Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
- Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
- Clinical Lead you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
- Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and for the wider region.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join Cambridgeshire Liaison and Diversion Service, who support people with vulnerabilities, of all ages who find themselves in the criminal justice system.
Practitioners are based in courts and police custody units across the county. Their role is to screen and assess service users of all ages and where appropriate divert them out of the criminal justice system where there are no public protection issues.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working in police custodies and the Magistrates courts across the county, and will either be based in Cambridge or Peterborough. This may also include visiting rural areas to ensure that there is an equitable service for all service users to access.
The role will include working in host environments, working at times autonomously from the main team but with the support from police, court and probation staff.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. We are looking for a motivated individual with payroll experience to support the delivery of an accurate and timely payroll service. Bromley Ward is an acute inpatient facility for individuals over 65 years presenting with a functional mental health condition or early stages of dementia, requiring admission for assessment and treatment with a planned discharge into the community.
We provide inpatient facilities for older adults with mental health problems and we are looking for caring, compassionate individual to work within our older adult service who are committed to providing high quality care and treatment to our patients. Working in an older adult environment can be challenging, but with the right team, positive attitude and resilience we are rising to the challenge and reaping the reward of being able to support people during their most difficult times.
Please note you must be able to work night shifts on rotation.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering a high quality clinical service to patients and their families.
- Acting as named nurse to a group of patients under the direction / supervision of the person identified with continuing responsibility.
- Participating in therapeutic group work programmes.
- Taking charge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager and deputy ward manager.
- You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and contributing to; the formulation of the person's needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon the person's negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to deliver diagnostic spirometry to the clients of Change Grow Live (CGL) Coventry, the commissioned drug and alcohol treatment provider. The successful post holder will conduct clinics in CGL Coventry to diagnose respiratory conditions and advise accordingly on their management. The innovative project is paving the way for tackling health inequalities and bringing care to the most vulnerable within society. This trailblazing project, funded by the ICB (Integrated Care Board), enables us to deliver care to those who typically do not engage with primary or secondary care, aiming to increase early diagnosis and reduce drug related deaths. The post holder will integrate across primary and secondary care. Support to be successful in this role will be provided by clinicians at CGL and the Community COPD Service and Respiratory Physiology department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
The post-holder will need to provide evidence of a valid Full UK driving license and must have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced practitioners with a criminal justice interest, to work in the Sussex Health & Justice Liaison and Diversion Service. The post holder would be expected to work within the Outreach Team across the Sussex area. Here at the Lambeth Mental Health Liaison Service, we are excited to advertise a permanent full time senior mental health liaison nurse position within our team.
The primary function of this role is to work as a highly experienced mental health practitioner, carrying out front of house specialist assessments (i.e. the front door triage model) within the Emergency Department (ED) as part of the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT).
The psychiatric nurse in charge (Psych NIC) is responsible for ensuring all those who present to the ED with an acute mental health need, receive timely and appropriate care, in the right place, at the right time, by the right person.
The PNIC will be expected to actively identify and triage those presenting to the ED with an urgent or emergent need for mental health care, psychological support and/ or those with substance misuse problems. Working alongside the ED team they try to ensure appropriate medical clearance wherever appropriate. However, this does not explicitly mean that all face-to-face contact is completed by the PNIC; instead acting as a shift coordinator to ensure that all patients are prioritised in terms of need and allocated to the team appropriate to that need of the patient and the skill mix on shift.
Main duties of the job
The Psych NIC will:
- be based on the emergency floor for much of the shift providing direct formal and informal support to the ED teams and visiting agencies.
- Offering face to face support directing referrals from the emergency floor to the most appropriate assessment pathway i.e. via the front door triage model, direct to the PLN's for full assessment or determining if further medical assessments need to be completed inline with our parallel assessment protocol.
- Work alongside the enhanced care team (ECT) in making decisions about enhanced observations for mental health patients.
- Act as part of the ED response team for patients detained on S136 or police referrals, and work to ensure timely throughput in department in line with the GSTT CODE10 protocol.
- Work alongside ED triage teams to evaluate fitness for assessment, and support visible parallel working. (see parallel working protocol)
- Through use of the front door triage model and from being visible and approachable able assist referrers in signposting to other services - including UCC, GP, IAPT etc.
- Assist the PLN assessment team working as the Psychiatric Nurse in Charge.
- Take a lead role within the liaison service, providing support and guidance within the service but also within their specialist lead area. i.e. safeguarding etc.

You will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiencies of our community nursing teams by using your skills and nursing experience to support the team with triage of calls and referrals made to the community nursing teams. You will actively liaise with patients; carers and service providers to support clinical decision making and make appropriate decisions following comprehensive remote triage (using available information from referral information and electronic clinical systems) to ensure the safe management, in response to calls and referrals received by the community nursing service.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Community Triage Nurse, you will have professional and clinical knowledge of community nursing to provide remote triage of calls and referrals made to the community nursing teams in East Staffs.
As Part of this role, you will be expected to:
- Understand the scope of the community nursing service and the role of other MPFT and external services within each Primary Care Network. To ensure referrals are directed to the most appropriate service (including directing to emergency services where needed).
- Occasional delivery of care to patients in a community setting in order to maintain up to date clinical experience.
- Whilst not providing regular face to face patient contact the post holder will need to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the clinical aspects of community nursing to resolve clinical queries over the phone and to enable effective remote assessment and clinical triage. This includes palliative care (particularly symptom management and support to families in the last few days of life); wound care; medication management; diabetes management; catheter and bowel care.
- Have supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the triage lead nurse; including coordinating the team; allocating work to team members; resolving and escalating issues; coordinating the daily huddle and group chat and representing the triage team on the community nursing capacity calls.
- Occasional supervision of students and new nurses joining the community nursing team.

Main duties of the job
As band 5 Community Nurse, you will have a commitment to providing holistic care to patients in a clinic setting and be able to work on your own initiative and work well within a team.

Assess new service user referrals and care/support needs.
Provide care directly to patients on the caseload with a range of nursing needs (complex wound care, pelvic health, medication administration).
Promote independence and support patient centred care planning.
Work autonomously, in line with your scope of practice, competence and policies.
Handover patient information to the wider team, document patient information effectively.
Escalation of patients' needs as appropriate.

We are looking for an inspiring and compassionate Clinical Lead Nurse to work across our Community Learning Disability Services in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. This is an exciting leadership role for an experienced Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) who is committed to delivering excellent care and driving meaningful change for people with learning disabilities.
Working closely with community nursing teams, Health Action Teams and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will be the professional nursing lead across all three services. You will champion best practice, support and develop staff, and provide expert clinical leadership for people with complex needs. A central focus of the role will be improving physical health outcomes, reducing health inequalities and ensuring that people with learning disabilities are able to access the same high-quality healthcare as everyone else.
