Job summary
We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to join our forward thinking dietetic team.
You will be involved in providing part of the Dietetic Service with a variety of patients. This is a new role that will support an existing rotational specialist team who cover acute nutrition support, gastroenterology and upper/lower GI surgery.
You will be provided with regular supervision and CPD opportunities in order to develop your clinical skills. We are committed to improving our patient experience and clinical dietetic pathways and there will be opportunities to be involved with both current and new projects within the team.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to undertake various tasks. You will need to have a flexible approach to work being able to adapt and prioritise according to the needs of the team.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for a patient caseload under the supervision of a Registered dietitian
- Liaise with members of the MDT to coordinate and support the nutritional care of patients on the caseload
- Provide additional administrative support to manage the dietetic caseload, helping to ensure that the patient pathways are maintained and appropriate care is delivered.

Job summary

This is an ideal opportunity to support the area with your expert clinical knowledge.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior Midwife to lead and manage the Antenatal Clinic on the Queens Hospital Burton site.
The successful applicant will have a bespoke induction and support package tailored to their development needs.
Main duties of the job
As a senior midwife for Antenatal Clinic you will take overall responsibility and accountability in ensuring women, babies and families receive safe, clinically effective, women centred care across the whole maternity care pathway.
You will lead by example, offer expert midwifery clinical advice, operationally support and manage teams and services ensuring the delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate midwifery care.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver care to women and babies within acute or community clinical environments whose needs are complex.
You will work flexibly across the service in supporting the delivery of midwifery care, using a range of service models, including continuity of carer. Senior midwives provide expert clinical and professional midwifery leadership and are accountable for the women, babies, public and staff experience. This will be in line with local, Trust wide and national policies, procedures, values and behaviours.

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton operate dialysis services across three sites delivering both acute and chronic haemodialysis. As we continue to expand our dialysis provision, we are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for new team members to join us at our Derby Dialysis Unit.
Previous experience in renal dialysis is not required, as comprehensive support is provided for all staff. Our Practice Development Facilitator ensures that every new starter receives guidance and mentoring throughout their induction. In addition, a carefully designed competency package is available to help new team members develop the skills for the role. Training will take place on the Derby site.
To succeed in this position, you must demonstrate adaptability in the working environment and be willing to further your clinical skills. The Renal Dialysis Units are operational from Monday to Saturday, offering dialysis sessions to patients in the morning, afternoon and evening. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to cover shifts across these hours, working four days per week. Opportunities for cross-site working are also supported, providing further avenues for professional development.

- Ensuring consistent delivery of patient care, assessing care needs & implementing agreed nursing and clinical standards.
- Delivering haemodialysis treatment to CKD patients who attend the unit 3 times a week.
- Managing a clinical workload.
- Working with the MDT to ensure that the needs of the complex chronic patients are met.
- Monitoring the quality of care delivered using clinical standards & audit and in conjunction with other members of the MDT takes necessary action to ensure excellence in nursing practice.
- Participating in professional and personal development of the Nursing Team.
- Supporting the nursing team in the clinical area to minimise and identify potential environmental & clinical risks

We are looking for an exceptional registered nurse to join us as a Clinical Educator working in ED at the Royal Derby Hospital.
The ED education team takes responsibility for and is accountable for the delegated professional, practice development and education within the nursing team .

You will work independently and collaboratively in the coordination and delivery of development activities, mandatory, essential to role and specialist clinical training, collaborating with the dynamic wider teams in Learning & Education and the Senior Clinical Educator for ED.
There is an expectation that you will work clinically within the Registered Nursing team when required.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Cancer Business Unit within our Oncology department as a Clinical Nurse Specialist supporting the patient pathways for metastatic and non metastatic cancers for Lung cancer patients.
You will be joining an established team of dynamic Lung cancer CNS's . You will be part of a team that deliver specialist nursing whilst maintaining and developing a quality service. You will act as the patient's advocate maintaining privacy and dignity, and provide advice and support to junior staff and learners in all aspects of the delivery of highquality care.
This role will also provide support, advice and education to patients/ significant others in the management of their care.
Main duties of the job
Substantial nursing experience in oncology nursing at band 6/7 is preferable. You will need to be flexible, reliable and patient focused. You will work closely with the consultant team in delivering patient centred care.
There is a requirement to work between both Derby and Burton sites, however theses posts are predominately RDH (Royal Derby Hospital) based.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate experienced registered nurse to join the Specialist Palliative Care Service at UHDB as a Specialist Palliative Care Development Nurse.
This developmental Band 6 role offers a unique 18-month rotational fixed term contract or secondment across our specialist palliative care services, including the Nightingale Macmillan Inpatient Unit, Ward 2 (EOLC ward) at FNCH, Hospital Palliative Care Team at RDH + QHB and Community Palliative Care Team across Derbyshire. As a supernumerary member of the team, you will receive structured support and development to build the knowledge, skills and confidence required to become a specialist practitioner in palliative and end-of-life care.
Working alongside experienced nursing and medical colleagues, you will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of holistic, person-centred care for patients with complex palliative and supportive care needs. You will also provide advice, education and support to patients, families and multidisciplinary teams across a variety of healthcare settings.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive Rheumatology Department which provides comprehensive Rheumatology services for Derby and Burton together with South Derbyshire/East Staffordshire and some parts of adjoining areas of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

If the answer to the above is yes then this is an exciting secondment opportunity and be a part of our team in the Combined Triage Assessment Unit (CTAU)
There will be a requirement to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
We are ideally looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with demonstrable post registration experience with acute and/or Oncology/Haematology experience, who will thrive in our bespoke assessment unit .
We are in search of driven, compassionate and forward thinking nurses to join our team to support the cancer patient journey when they become unwell as a result of their treatment.
You must be adaptable, able to thrive under pressure, a great team player, be able to empathise and to remain professional and positive during challenging situations.
The role entails telephone triaging, assessing, planning and implementing care to acutely unwell patients. We have a 24hr triage line where patients undergoing treatments for their cancer diagnosis can call the line for advice and assessment. For the most, our patients will attend CTAU for a period of a few hours then are discharged home with a plan, some patients will be admitted directly to one of our cancer wards.
CTAU is open 7 days a week currently 7:30 am- 8 pm week days and 8am - 6pm weekends and BH (weekend and BH hours may change to make the week days in the future).
Winter hours are staggered and extended from 08.30 am - 9pm due to higher activity.

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 MRI Radiographer to support the MRI service at UHDB. We operate 11 MRI scanners; 9 x1.5T, a 3T and a 0.4T, undertaking a wide range of complex and non complex diagnostic examinations including cardiac MRI.
The post holder will join our large and friendly team, and quickly become an integral part of our service. We operate 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, with an on call service at Royal Derby Hospital.
You will have a BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent and have current registration with the Health and Professions Council (HCPC).
Main duties of the job

To provide a high quality and efficient MRI service for the Trust .

To work as part of a professional radiography team providing an excellent diagnostic service.

We expect the post holder to already possess excellent MRI and patient care skills.

Practice safely using the MHRA guidelines and department safety policies as guidelines

To participate in the departmental Quality Assurance Program, risk management and risk assessments.

To identify and actively promote best practice.

To provide staff and student training, to include CPD presentations as part of the radiographerseducation programme and to external bodies.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across all UHDB sites depending on service needs.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our growing Diabetes Team to work on our Diabetic ward (Ward 216) and in our Diabetic Foot clinic. Based at Royal Derby Hospital you will work within the diabetes team supporting our multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide individualised, holistic care in a safe and caring environment. This will be within the Diabetic foot clinic and the diabetic ward. You will be expected to work as part of our 27 bedded inpatient ward and have all the responsibilities of a general adult nurse within our medicine division and also be part of our diabetic foot clinic team. Collaborating and sharing information within the Diabetes team, UHDB team and where necessary with our Community Partners. We will offer a thorough induction package where the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills such as venepuncture, cannulations and wound care. We require a candidate that is organised, resilient and adaptable. We expect to see excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Above all else we require quality patient care to be your priority at all times. Main duties of the job
The job role requires assessment of patient's, initiating treatment plan, managing deteriorating patient's and assisting with patient flow through completing timely discharges and transfers to ward areas.
Ward 216 can be a fast paced but exhilarating and highly rewarding place to work. We are dedicated in the promotion of staff well-being and there is always lots of support available from the senior nursing team. In consultation with the MDT prioritise, implement and evaluate patient care, in accordance with Trust polices, procedures, protocols and guidelines Undertake a range of extended clinical procedures relevant to the clinical area, in support of registered nurses and to ensure the implementation of individualised care plans. E.g. wound care and management, dressings and treating diabetic wound and general ward work. Communicate effectively by giving, receiving and interpreting information so that appropriate action can be taken within the boundary of the role. Work in partnership with all members of the interdisciplinary team both internal and external to the Trust to ensure continuity of care for the patient.
