Job summary
The Christie @ Macclesfield SACT services unit provides treatment to a variety of different cancer diagnosis within solid tumor and Haematology. In the unit systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) is administered IV, alongside supportive treatments such as blood and platelet transfusions. The team is looking for an enthusiastic SACT trained nurse to support and provide chemotherapy treatment to our patients. This post is a full time permanent position.

Main duties of the job
o The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the specialty.o To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of direct patient care.o To take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister and Matrono To support the senior sister/matron to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.o To co-ordinate the day to day management of the SACT unit.o To collaborate between Christie sites across the Greater Manchester area as requiredo To manage, lead and motivate Band 5, 4 and 3 staff ensuring compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements.o In the absence of the Senior Sister/Matron to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the SACT Unit.o To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients 'feedback to maintain and improve patient care.o To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.

This post presents an excellent opportunity to join the establishing and expanding Breast Research team with a varied portfolio of early and late clinical trials as a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN).Research nursing is an exciting and developing role, supported through the R&I division with a good education and development package in place to ensure that staff reach their potential.Central to this role is the responsibility of assessing and managing the complex needs of patients participating in a clinical trial, including the delivery of all specified treatments for participants in research within a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities of the post include the coordination of the trial protocols and working alongside the clinical trial coordinators.A background in oncology, flexibility in working, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in clinical research and/or breast malignancies would be desirable.An informal discussion about the post is strongly recommended with the possibility to spend some time with the team to understand better the requirement of the role.
Main duties of the job
The CRN will be involved in every stage of the portfolio activities including feasibility reviews of new clinical trial opportunities, set-up and activation of new trials, patient recruitment and management, supporting team with data query resolution, reviewing protocol amendments, providing patient-centred insights to the research delivery team by supporting both the patients and the team through all aspects of clinical research of the Breast portfolio.With support from the team the CRN will ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the patients is maintained within the requirement of the multi-regulatory frameworks for clinical research ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs.By utilising national frameworks for auditing patients experience the CRN will ensure the patients in the Breast disease portfolio studies will have the best possible experience whilst participating in clinical research.Raise the profile of the clinical research nurse and clinical trials within the trust by engaging in promotional events relating to clinical research with attendance and contributions at local, national and international meetings.Demonstrate awareness and contribution to divisional, Trust and national objectives and strategies.

Clinical Research Co-ordination Work autonomously in all areas of practice relating to clinical research. The SACT Outreach Team delivers treatments for Patients closer to home. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team providing care closer to home.
The Nurse will be required to provide a supportive role within the SACT Outreach sites for nursing, medical & clerical staff whilst also covering the Oak Road treatment Centre if required. The SACT Outreach Team delivers treatments for Patients closer to home. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team providing care closer to home.
You will also be required to provide support where required to Oak Road Treatment Centre and staff.

Haematology/ TYA services: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join an established Clinical Education team. Potential applicants should have relevant knowledge and skills to complement our existing Haematology/ TYA team. The Haematology Oncology service at the Christie offers state of the art treatments delivered by leading clinicians to patients with blood cancers across the Northwest. Services include an established cellular therapy and transplant programme. It is a specialist treatment regional Centre for teenage and young adults.
The successful applicant will be supported by the Clinical Educator team, senior nursing teams across Palatine Treatment Centre and the Christie Private care (haematology). The role will include maintaining strategies for the induction, education and continuing professional development of staff for inpatient, ambulatory care and day unit areas. The post holder will work clinically with staff ensuring they are supported in the specialist knowledge and skills. Ensuring the highest standards are maintained according to Standard Operating Procedures and Trust policies. The post holder will ensure the internal TYA/ Haematology education days continue to be up to date and evidence based. The post holder will be required to work autonomously and exercise a high level of clinical judgement. Excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of TYA/Haematology malignancies, SACT protocols and stem cell transplantation is desirable.

The Role and TeamIf successful, you will lead and support a team of registered nurses and healthcare support workers delivering care across the SACT Outreach and Bloods Closer to Home services throughout Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The service currently operates across 12 locations, with further expansion anticipated in line with strategic service development and patient demand.The SACT Outreach and Bloods Closer to Home services operate Monday to Friday across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, including Bank Holidays. Future expansion may involve weekend working which you will be required to manage and oversee. The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised and competent Staff Nurse to join our core nursing team.
This role is for 37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 days. IPU is currently open 07:30-19:30 Monday to Friday, so this is a great opportunity to achieve an excellent work-life balance whilst joining a dynamic nurse-led service.

Main duties of the job
