We are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated staff to join our proactive team. To apply you will need post registration experience in an acute care setting. Previous CCU experience is desirable but not essential as full training in managing critically ill and high dependency patients will be given.
Main duties of the job
To deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill (Level 1-3) patients within the Critical Care Unit. The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
The role supports development from novice to competent critical care practitioner, including opportunities for formal education such as the Critical Care Foundation Programme, national competency frameworks, and higher education pathways.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to undertake a Band 5 to Band 6 competency-based progression pathway, enabling structured clinical and professional development within Critical Care

A promising opportunity has emerged to enhance the sleep service by incorporating the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) located in West Swindon. The selected candidates will be required to work at the Great Western Hospital, Moredon medical centre and the West Swindon site.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to develop their clinical skills and knowledge within the sleep service / ventilation team. The Team diagnoses and treats patients with obstructive sleep apnoea, movement disorders, and sleep-disordered breathing. The team predominately looks after outpatients who require sleep studies and NIV and CPAP treatment but also reviews some inpatients who require sleep studies or any guidance on NIV.
The successful applicant must have up-to-date respiratory skills and knowledge to ensure. It will be required to work autonomously and within a friendly team. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a valued member of the Sleep and Ventilation service providing assessment, care, support, and advice for patients undergoing sleep studies and treatments for sleep disordered breathing. To work within defined policies in conjunction with the Band 7 Respiratory Nurse, promoting and maintaining excellent, safe practice and continuing to develop the role of the nurse specialist.

4. To provide Home sleep studies and oximetry on an outpatient basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and improved department within the field of Acute Medicine- the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) . All patients are assessed, triaged and reviewed by the Acute Medical team before either being discharged or transferred to an appropriate inpatient area. We work closely with multiple teams offering a vast learning experience.
Main duties of the job
We admit patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients should only stay on MAU for a relatively short period of time before their discharge, or admission to a specialty ward.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role. The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes.
