Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic professional to join the Brockwell Community Nursing Team at Northumbria way, to provide deputy leadership and management of the Community Nursing Team. The post requires a high level of clinical expertise which has been developed through experience in practice. We are dedicated to supporting continuing professional development and provide excellent leadership through mentorship, coaching and education for all grades of staff, to provide high quality patient care in line with Northumbria Healthcare Trusts Vision.
As a deputy team lead the post holder will support the Team Lead to establish and maintain robust communication networks with patients, carers, team members, GPs and other professionals and agencies. You will act as a role model for the Community Nursing service, our patients and families exercising accountability for patient care in line the NMC code of professional conduct.
You will work with the Team Lead to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care packages for patients on their caseload which can include the analysis of clinical, social and family situations.
- To exercise accountability for patient care, as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and act within the policies of Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust.
- To support the Team Lead and in their absence be responsible for the planning and delivery of District Nursing services within a designated area, prioritising clinical need to provide holistic care.
- To be accountable for own practice working without direct supervision.
- To act as an advocate to empower individuals, their carers and their families to influence and use available resources. To carry out risk assessment and management of the physical environment to safeguard patients, staff and carers
- Promote effective use of Trust policy regarding infection control within the nursing team, the clinical setting and patients' homes.
- Make referrals to other disciplines or agencies.

Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated individual to work in our Inventory management team. There is one role within the Inventory Team and is based at The Northumbria Hospital. The post holder will provide an Inventory management service for the Theatres, on which full training will be given.Reporting to the Inventory Team Leader, you will ensure that adequate stock levels of medical and non-medical products are maintained on wards & departments or in the theatre stores. This will be achieved by counting and ordering a defined range of products using a bar code reader, and also checking and putting away the received goods. You will review stock usage reports and liaise with Theatre Managers to keep adequate agreed stock levels.You will also be expected to provide cover to the hospital stores as and when required. These duties will include receiving goods from suppliers, checking the quantity and quality of the goods, receipt of orders into the Trust Ordering System and the completion of any necessary documentation.

Main duties of the job
You should have experience of stock replenishment and / or working in a stores environment. You should have good interpersonal skills, be customer facing with a helpful, friendly and flexible attitude. You should be PC literate with experience of entering data into computerised systems. You should be able to use your own initiative, and be able to work alone and well as part of a team. The ability to work to deadlines and communicate with staff at all levels is essential.
You may be required to work at any one of our 4 main hospital sites to provide the Inventory service. A drivers license or ability to travel to those sites would be beneficial.
