An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at HMP Nottingham within the Primary Care Team. We are looking for an individual who possess a caring, positive attitude and is dedicated and conscientious. Good communication abilities, compassion and organisational skills are paramount. The candidates will have the ability to lead by example and work well in a team. A strong interest in working with prisoners is essential.
HMP Nottingham is a Category B training prison. and is built to accommodate around 1100 males aged 18 and over.
We are a warm and friendly team who pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of care. The successful candidates will benefit from an extensive supernumerary induction period, alongside regular supervision and appraisals and be encouraged to undertake training so why not drop us a line and come and have a look around.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure the provision of research based high quality care to patients in HMP Nottingham in accordance with local and national policies.
The post holder will undertake various duties within HMP Nottingham including acting as a responder to emergencies, screening patients in reception and on the wings, triaging patients and holding nurse led clinics.
The post holder will demonstrate leadership qualities and set an example to junior staff through their own behaviour and attitude at all times.
The post holder will oversee the provision of day to day healthcare services in the absence of the clinical lead.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Band 6 role as a Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner.
We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse with significant experience who have a passion for delivering evidence based interventions. Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in Perinatal Mental Health and the development of the service, excellent communication skills, the ability to provide supervision to junior staff and mentorship to students.
The Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service also offers pre-conception advice for woman with a known mental illness wishing to conceive and provide training and education to professionals alongside experts by experience.
Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable as is knowledge of Perinatal Mental Health Conditions, prevalence rates, treatment interventions and Safeguarding Policies and Procedures. A keen interest and passion for working with women and their families is a must, as is the ability to work closely with a range of professionals from health visiting, Maternity, Children's Services and the Third Sector.
