Job summary
We are looking for suitably qualified nurses to join our proactive team. Equally if you are a newly qualified nurse who would like a career in acute nursing, but are worried that it may be too early in your career we are also happy to ensure you can work on the unit and support would be provided to ensure you flourish.
We have 1 dedicated Education Facilitators who ensure that all are staff are trained and equipped to work within the ever changing ward environment. Newly qualified nurses will have a 12 month preceptorship with one of our experience staff.
We require excellent nurses who want exciting, challenging roles, to deliver first class high quality patient care. We are a unique unit that has an Enhanced Care Area (ECA) where we provide care to Level 1 patients. Each Staff Nurse will get an opportunity of a rotation to our ECA. These patients come directly from A & E. The ECA beds will take patients who require respiratory support, as well as cardiac monitoring in the acute phase of their illness, as well as other patients requiring a High Dependency Setting. Our staff have the opportunity to undertake blood gases; ECG's and undertake the Advanced Life Skills Course in order to maintain our highest standards of acute medical care.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate with the checking of the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists is required for this post.

The AMU is a fast paced, busy environment, the successful candidates will be dynamic, enthusiastic individuals, who would like to further their career in this area of medical nursing.
Commitment to undertake ongoing in-service training and development is essential. You should be motivated, keen to learn & ready to embrace change.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join Ward 5C as a Staff Nurse.
The post-holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of programmes. Main duties of the job
- Responsible for overseeing the AMD appointment system scheduling new and follow up assessment and treatment appointments, managing the case load and ensuring patients are informed of their appointment and other relevant information.
- Be the point of contact for patients, consultants, nursing staff and managerial staff in regard to the AMD service
- Identify capacity and demand issues and ensure clinical and managerial colleagues are aware and action.
- Request any changes as required for letters, clinic, theatres and consultants via Pas Admin
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the treatment rooms / theatre availability for injections
- Ensure the treatment plan on Medisight coincides with the information the AMD co-ordinator has received and highlight any conflicting information to the clinicians

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly, Paediatric nursing teams.
36 hours permanent position available.
The Paediatric Department consists of a team of experienced and dedicated Nursing and Medical staff providing care to children and young people from birth to 16 years.
The Children's Ward includes 17 in-patient and 4 day case beds . There is also a 6 bedded Paediatric Observation Assessment Unit co-located next to the ward.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate, with the checking of the Children's Barred Lists is required for this position.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible in association with the team leader for the formulation and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- To participate in the holistic assessment of patients, and to formulate and review individual patient care plans and to act as 'named nurse' or associate for a group of patients from admission to discharge as determined by the Ward Manager.
- To commenceand participate in research/special projects as directed by the ward manager.
- To contribute to the setting, maintaining and monitoring of standards of care within the ward.
- Help to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order in conjunction with the department equipment controller.
- Internal rotations onto night duty and twilight shifts are required.
- To assist in the promotion of effective communication with all ward staff and other departments as required.

Job summary
Ormskirk Hospital Dermatology Department are seeking to employ a permanent band 6 Senior Dermatology Nurse.
The post is for full time 37.5 hours and will incorporate a combination of clinical and organisational duties to ensure safe and excellent care in the Dermatology Department.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as the post holder will be required to liaise with the vast Dermatology MDT, including clinical and non-clinical staff. In addition to this, the successful applicant will be required to support the Skin Cancer Specialist Nurses in the care of patients with a Cancer diagnosis, using advanced communication skills to support them in their care.
We are seeking an autonomous practitioner, with proven experience of caring for patients with Dermatology conditions and treatments such as phototherapy UVA/UVB treatments, patch testing, photodynamic therapy and treatment counselling and eczema education.
The Department hosts 2 Minor Operation Theatres. The successful applicant will take an active role in the care of patients attending clinic for these procedures, acting as the Scrub Nurse in theatre and using their clinical expertise to review patients returning with any post procedure issues.
Proven leadership skills are also essential as the Senior Dermatology Nurse is a clinical role model to junior staff and student nurses and is required to deputise for the Senior Sister in day to day line management of the team.
Main duties of the job
- The purpose of this post is to provide specialised nursing care within the Dermatology Outpatient setting.
- To provide information, advice, support, assessment, interventions and follow up for dermatology patients, including those who have extra needs including cognitive and behavioral difficulties.
- To communicate effectively and liaise across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless and effective care for dermatology patients.
- To assist and support senior nursing staff and participate in continually monitoring and improving the effectiveness of the dermatology services provided by the Trust.
- To undertake independent clinics as part of the nurse led service, including phototherapy UVA/UVB treatments, patch testing, photodynamic therapy (PDT), treatment counselling and eczema/psoriasis education.
- To provide support within the team and act as a role model and resource, encouraging and developing a high standard of clinical skill and improving patient outcome.

The role of the Acute Frailty Unit Navigator is to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of the multi-professional team, providing and monitoring high quality care and contributing to the ongoing assessment, as agreed with supervising clinician(s) and in line with the service pathways. The Acute Frailty Unit Navigator has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan, providing holistic and person-centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Acute Frailty Unit Navigator will work independently under the leadership of the Registered Nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and within all aspects of the nursing process, the Acute Frailty Unit Navigator will work autonomously in the clinic and ward supporting with the flow and discharges in ambulatory.

The Surgery Division is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Admissions Officer to pro-actively co-ordinate the admission of patients to the pre-operative assessment unit and elective admissions wards. To schedule operations ensuring that an efficient, timely and patient focused service is provided and the clinical needs of patients are met in accordance with the current NHS time frames.
This demanding role will require excellent time management and organisational skills. The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload and will require a flexible approach to their duties.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate the admission of patients to the pre-operative assessment unit and elective admissions wards.
To schedule operations ensuring that an efficient, timely and patient focused service is provided and the clinical needs of patients are met in accordance with the current operating framework and the NHS constitution.
The post holder should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Ability to use a range of computer systems to collate information and escalate potential problem areas. Training will be given where necessary for internal IT systems.
There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative.

To assist Consultants and Specialist Doctors with patient management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 NIV Nurse on Ward 2C. The new post holder will join our already existing, dedicated and friendly team of staff on Ward 2C at Whiston Hospital. The post holder should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute setting and have experience in looking after patients who require Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV)
Ward 2C is a 37 bedded Respiratory ward, which includes a six bedded NIV unit. The ward care for patients with acute respiratory conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, Lung fibrosis and TB including patients stepping down from ICU/HDU We are dedicated to providing high quality patient care supported by staff education and development. Our multi-disciplinary team embraces the very latest innovations and technology to care for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions including acute NIV and CPAP. There are eight Consultants, and the ward has implemented seven day working.
We are looking for a Band 6 NIV Nurse who will bring experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to the existing team. Having a positive approach to supporting and developing your team will be crucial to maintaining the consistently high standard of care that our patients and their families require
Main duties of the job
We would like to hear from you if you have a special interest in Respiratory and want to lead the way in the continued development of a high standard of care in an acute setting
There are strong links with both respiratory nurse specialists and community staff, and we work closely with all members of our MDT to provide quality care and treatment for our patients.
The NIV Nurse is expected to be dynamic and enthusiastic and be able to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.

Job summary
An Exciting opportunity to cover 18 months secondment opportunity within a well established Community COPD service in St Helens delivered by experienced Specialist nursing team , the recruitment process will also consider an internal opportunity to candidates from within our trust for a secondment opportunity with the support of your manager and matron.
To assess, plan, deliver and evaluating evidence-based care for respiratory patients within a community setting.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of an integrated community COPD nurse specialist working across primary and secondary care to prevent hospital admission and reduce length of stay for patient with an exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) and a St Helens GP. The team also support the delivery of oxygen clinics and warm Home for lungs..

Therapy Assistant - Band 4
Mersey Regional Burn & Plastic Surgery Centre Therapy Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner/ Therapy Assistant to join the Mersey Regional Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Therapy Team at Whiston hospital.
The successful candidate will work alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists providing care for patients from Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, Isle of Man and beyond in one of the largest units in the UK.
You will work as part of a friendly, supportive therapy team who continuously strive to provide high-quality person-centred care to both in patients and outpatients following a burn injury or those that have required plastic surgery due to trauma or elective surgery. Many of our patients will have experienced a life changing event.
Interviews will take place week commencing 28th September (date TBC)

Main duties of the job
You will be required to manage a caseload independently and take responsibility for providing assessment and treatment of patients with a variety of medical conditions. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, hardworking and able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills. Manual handling is an important component of the role.
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to meet the demands of our 7-day service. Applicants may be expected to travel within the regional catchment area to support the patient's transition back into the community.
Administrative duties including photocopying, computer data entry and IT literacy skills are essential.
As a Trust, we are committed to continuing professional and personal development and will therefore provide support with regular supervision and training. We are keen to promote collaborative practice and to develop staff within a supportive and friendly environment. You will participate in delivering training to other staff to facilitate their development. You will have completed the Assistant Practitioner Degree or be willing to do so.
