Main duties of the job
This post is a community based role, covering the West Yorkshire area, therefore travel is a requirement of the role. The ARDT work both in and out of the hospital setting. Delivering NIHR Portfolio adopted research in Wider Care Settings and the community requires the post holder to have a flexible approach, excellent planning and time management skills. This is a senior post withing the ARDT therefore applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of delivering both commercial and non-commercial research and have knowledge of the legislative frameworks governing safe and effective research delivery. Applicants should possess the necessary clinical skills required to deliver all aspects of clinical research such as phlebotomy, EGC recording and sample processing. This may include undertaking supervision, mentorship and staff reviews to identify training and development needs, and establishing how those needs will be met, and managing performance against agreed objectives.
The following areas of expertise are advantageous however not essential, Commercial Research Delivery with IMP administration, Mental Health, Community or District Nursing, Supporting those living with Dementia and Prisons.
Why you should join our TeamThe NIHR RRDNs have three key roles.
First, to provide support to research sites to enable the effective and efficient initiation
and delivery of funded research across the health and care system in England.
Second, to enable the strategic development of new and more effective research
delivery capability and capacity. This includes bringing research to under-served regions
and communities with major health and care needs.
Third, to work jointly with the Coordinating Centre in the strategic oversight of the NIHR
RDN. This ensures that the Portfolio is maintained as a cohort of high-quality, fully-funded, viable and deliverable studies. It also ensures that the NIHR RDN as a whole serves the needs of researchers and R&D teams and is responsive to the changing domestic and global environment for health and care, life sciences and health research.
The Agile Research Delivery Team form part of the Regional Research Delivery Network for Yorkshire and Humber. We support the delivery of research across multiple locations and settings, broadly speaking in Secondary Care and Wider Care Settings.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a number of permanent Band 6 Health Science Practitioner specialists (Senior Genetic Technologist) to work at North East and Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub (NEY GLH) Central Laboratory based at St Jamess University Hospital in Leeds: Applicants should have a first degree in a Biological Science subject with a considerable Genomics or Molecular Biology content, at least 3 years relevant experience; ideally in a diagnostic laboratory and have completed registration with the AHCS or HCPC as a Genetic Technologist or Biomedical Scientist. Experience of service development and troubleshooting and/or management experience including attendance management and procurement would be an advantage. The successful candidate will need to work in a fast-paced environment, completing work at short notice and delivering the tight deadlines. This role requires excellent communication skills, good manual dexterity and a high level of attention to detail. By working to strict deadlines within established systems and procedures, the successful applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, technical skill and flexibility. There may be an opportunity for successful candidates to undertake a rotation across the 5 critical care units gaining vast experience from across the speciality. The successful candidates will be expected to work clinically within the multi-disciplinary team, maintain high standards of practice and deliver outstanding critical care.
All applicants are required to have current UK NMC registration, with evidence of registrant clinical practice in the UK, or be a final year nursing student studying in the UK

We also have a 12 bedded Transitional Care Unit on the St James's Hospital Site and 2 Transitional care cots integrated into the post-natal ward on the Leeds General Infirmary Site.
Current service comprise 64 cots cross city. The role requires management of approximately 170 whole time equivalent nurses and support staff in partnership with the Lead Nurses and Matrons for the Service. Job summary
The Liver and Gall Bladder CNS team are involved in supporting patients diagnosed with a HPB malignancy. We work across several different treatment modalities such as surgical, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and compassionate NMC or HCPC registrant to join the Professional Education and Development Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a Senior Practice Learning Facilitator (PLF). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting learners, registered staff and clinical teams across one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK. As a Senior Practice Learning Facilitator, you will lead on the development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of practice learning environments for nursing, midwifery and allied health professional learners across the Leeds placement circuit. Working in line with professional, regulatory and quality standards, you will support the delivery of high-quality placements that enable learners to thrive and achieve their full potential.
You will work collaboratively with learners, practice supervisors, practice assessors, clinical leaders, universities and regional partners to develop effective learning environments, support workforce development initiatives and promote innovative approaches to practice learning. Acting as a key link between clinical areas, education providers and placement partners, you will help strengthen partnerships, share best practice and contribute to quality assurance activities to create quality learning environments.
The role includes responsibility for reviewing and developing systems and processes that support practice learning, facilitating educational initiatives that enhance learner experience and progression, and issues relating to practice learning.
