Job summary
An exciting opportunity for an experienced RMN to join the Mother & Baby Unit Team. You should have a willingness to work towards developing your understanding of this specialist field and of infant care and development whilst working within a multidisciplinary team.
The East London Mother and Baby Unit is a specialist service that aims to provide mental health care for mothers and support in the care of their infants. The unit provides an integrated approach to care planning and promotes recovery.
We provide care and treatment for women with a pre-existing mental illness who suffer a relapse during pregnancy or after giving birth, such as bi-polar affective disorder, schizophrenia, recurrent depressive disorder, severe anxiety disorder and schizo-affective disorder
Women who develop an acute mental illness such as puerperal psychosis or depression during or afterpregnancy
Women who are at significant risk of becoming unwell in the perinatal period (prophylactic admissions) who have established diagnosis of mental illness and are already known to mental health services - referrals will be considered from 32 weeks gestation.
The aim of the unit is to ensure that all women who have young infants and who require admission can remain with their baby, enabling the special bond between mother and baby to be unbroken at a critical time in the life of a young family.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Practice Lead will support the Clinical Nurse Manager with 24-hour operational responsibility and accountability for the provision and management of high quality nursing care and for the treatment of service users within the inpatient service area.
You will be required to support developing the service and nursing team, support care delivery and work with service users and staff to ensure the provision of practices that respond effectively to both individual and service need.
There is an expectation that the post holder will contribute to the wider unit at City and Hackney and may at times be rostered to work on other acute wards locally; this will include providing cover for the Duty Senior Nurse role. The post holder will be required to undergo PMVA training.
About us
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

We are part of East London NHS Foundation Trust which has been rated "Outstanding" for the second year by Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are committed to ensuring a healthy work life balance and a positive working environment.
NTT is an exceptional talking therapies service with excellent development opportunities. We are committed to the progression of our team members and our posts are formulated to allow for development of clinical expertise in chosen clinical areas. As well as offering a range of therapies, the service also runs as a training centre, therefore offering opportunities for supervision and training.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be one of the three Deputy Clinical Leads. All Deputies share the majority of core service, strategic and staff management tasks but each will lead on different clinical and service areas. This post will provide clinical, strategic and performance leadership for all High Intensity modalities, i.e. CBT, relational therapies and Long-term Health Conditions. The post-holder will also perform responsibilities delegated by the Clinical Lead as appropriate for this level of seniority.
Under the directions of the Clinical Lead, the post holder will work closely and jointly with the counterpart Deputy Clinical Leads to maintain and further develop the full integration of the service (i.e. staff and performance management, interventions across steps, modalities and clinical specialist areas).
Through direct management of Managers (8As), the Deputy Clinical Leads will ensure the services vision, NTT business model, clinical quality, productivity and KPIs are consistently and systematically delivered. Due to rapid and constant changes in IAPT services targets and landscape, the two Deputies are required to work jointly to manage throughput, capacity and a quick turnaround of sound strategies to ensure the delivery of the services KPIs.
