Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Children's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist (Band 7) to join our Children's Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop specialist epilepsy services for children and young people across community, primary and secondary care settings.
The post holder will provide expert clinical care, advice, education and support to children and young people with epilepsy and their families, delivering care in clinics, schools, homes and hospital settings. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in improving health outcomes, supporting self-management, and ensuring children receive high-quality, evidence-based care throughout their epilepsy journey.
As a clinical leader, you will contribute to service development, clinical governance, education and training, while acting as a specialist resource for healthcare professionals across Croydon. You will work closely with paediatricians, community teams, schools, GPs and other partner organisations to coordinate care, facilitate smooth transitions into adult services, and drive continuous improvements in patient experience and service delivery.
This role is ideal for a skilled children's nurse with specialist epilepsy knowledge who is passionate about delivering outstanding care, empowering families, and shaping the future of children's epilepsy services.

Main duties of the job
Provide expert nursing care, assessment, advice and support for children and young people with epilepsy across community, outpatient, home and school settings. Act as an autonomous specialist practitioner, using advanced clinical decision-making skills to improve patient outcomes and quality of care. Support children, young people and their families from diagnosis onwards, providing education, emotional support and guidance on epilepsy management and treatment. Coordinate care and work collaboratively with paediatricians, community teams, schools, GPs, pharmacists and other multidisciplinary professionals. Manage a specialist epilepsy caseload and facilitate effective care pathways across primary, secondary and community services. Lead on the development and continuous improvement of the Children's Epilepsy Service, ensuring care is evidence-based and aligned with national standards and best practice. Provide education and training to healthcare professionals, families, schools and carers to improve understanding and management of epilepsy. Support the safe transition of young people with epilepsy into adult services. Monitor service quality, undertake audits, analyse activity data and contribute to clinical governance, risk management and service evaluation. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a specialist resource and professional role model.

The aim of this service is to be able to scrutinise deaths within acute hospitals and also the circumstances of all community deaths in the corresponding areas.You will be a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals and coroner and registration services.You will be part of the Medical Examiner's office ensuring internal and external qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators are managed and achieved and work closely with the bereavement team, mortality team, Coroner's Office and registrar services to provide the best experience for bereaved families. You will also act as an expert within the Trust for mortality processes and systems and ensure all staff are appropriately supported to fulfil their responsibilities relating to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Main duties of the job
To act as an intermediary between the bereaved and clinicians which will often be very complex and sensitive to establish and resolve any concerns relating to a patient's death. Work with medical examiners to aid them in their responsibility for overseeing the death certification process for all deceased patients in the organisation.To establish the circumstances of individual patient deaths by performing a preliminary review ofmedical records to identify clinical and circumstantial information, cases of which will often have complex and complicated circumstances and require the need to source additional details, for scrutiny by the medical examiner.

Job Summary:
The Lead Specialist nurse role has been developed in response to changing healthcare provision, with the emphasis on developing expert clinical skills including advanced assessment and diagnostic skills. The ANP supports the junior medical team and increases the skills of the nursing workforce. The ANP role challenges the traditionalworkforce boundaries; the ANP will frequently undertake tasks and decisions, which have traditionally, be within the remit of medicine, therefore the ANP is a highly skilled clinical expert nurse working within a defined specialty or clinical area.
The ANP will use their specialist knowledge, skills and experience in providing Dermatology care to differential patients in dermatology. They will work as a self-directed independent practitioner managing a defined caseload of patients with complex needsand they will also support the 2 week USC (Urgent suspected Cancer) pathway and Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS), interacting with the Clinical Nurse Specialist andConsultants within the Dermatology department.

Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promote the mental, physical and emotional and social health of individuals, families and groups.
2. Provide a high standard of care to individuals and families.
3. Be aware of the needs of patients and their relatives and have knowledge of statutory and voluntaryservices.
4. Be an effective member of a Nursing Team working within the community directorate .
5. To be responsible for the caseload management and supervision of the nursing team, in the absence of the District Nurse/ Caseload Holder.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children Looked After (CLA) Health Team at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust as a Band 6 Children Looked After Nurse.
The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary health team to improve health outcomes for children and young people looked after.
