Job summary
Secondment welcome | Fixed Term 2 Years
We are seeking an experienced and motivatedBiomedical Scientist or Registered Nurse to join our team as a Specialist Practitioner of Transfusion (SPOT).
The successful candidate will promote safe and effective transfusion practice across the Trust, delivering education and training to clinical staff, supporting compliance with BSQR, SABRE and SHOT requirements, and acting as the key link between the Blood Transfusion Department and clinical teams.
Key responsibilities include investigating transfusion incidents, managing traceability, developing transfusion policies, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and representing the Trust at regional and national transfusion meetings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 practitioner, or an experienced Band 6 looking to develop their specialist transfusion expertise, within a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Lead Nurse for Haematology and Oncology, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver education and training to clinical staff on best transfusion practice.
- Act as a specialist resource for transfusion-related advice and support.
- Investigate transfusion incidents and support learning and quality improvement.
- Monitor and manage transfusion traceability requirements.
- Develop, implement and review transfusion-related policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
The Band 6 Nurse for the Oxfordshire Assertive Outreach Team (AOT), working across Oxford City, is responsible for delivering high-quality, recovery-focused and evidence-based nursing interventions to adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties who experience significant challenges in engaging with services.
The Team will be a fully integrated multidisciplinary service comprising a Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Team Manager, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Support Workers and Administrators.
You will:
- Work as an autonomous practitioner an active participant of the multi-disciplinary team undertaking specialist nursing assessments in collaboration with the patients and their families/carers and presenting back to the wider MDT.
- Work in partnership with patients and their families/carers to ensure the development of a treatment plan to facilitate their safety, promote their well-being and support their independence and inclusion in the community. This may include working closely with partner agencies.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions following NICE guidelines to promote recovery and relapse prevention in a variety of settings.
- Regularly review care and outcomes, supporting service users to complete clinical outcome measures and monitoring progress and adapting treatment options as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our Colposcopy Service as aTrainee Nurse Colposcopist.
This developmental role offers a structured training pathway, enabling the successful candidate to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to practise as an independent Nurse Colposcopist. You will be supported to work towards BSCCP accreditation and, upon successful completion of training and competency requirements, there is an opportunity to progress to Band 7 within 12-18 months.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to women undergoing colposcopy assessment and treatment. We are looking for a nurse with excellent communication skills, a commitment to women's health, and a passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job
- To provide day to day support to all levels of staff and patients within the Colposcopy/ Vulvoscopy clinics at UHCW and Rugby St Cross
- Availability for all scheduled training sessions to ensure training is achievable within the allocated time frame training typically takes between 12 to 18 months
- Nurse Colposcopy training is extremely intense, and the successful candidate will be expected to always work alongside the Trained Colposcopist to ensure the level of detail expected from the training is achieved. Once qualified the individual will be expected to diagnose and treat cervical and vulval cancer within the colposcopy setting within BSCCP guidelines
- To be proactive in all areas of colposcopy training e.g. manage own logbook and online training and preparation for formal BSCCP OSCE assessment in a timely manner.

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Gynae-Oncology to join our expanding Private Care Division within the Sainsbury's Wing at Hammersmith Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred private gynae-oncology services within a world-class clinical environment.
The successful candidate will primarily support private gynaecological oncology patients; however, the role will be closely integrated with the NHS Gynae-Oncology team. This unique model will foster strong collaboration between private and NHS services, ensuring seamless patient pathways, the highest standards of care, and an outstanding patient experience. Working alongside colleagues across both services will also promote shared learning, knowledge exchange, professional development, and multidisciplinary collaboration, ultimately benefiting both patients and staff.
As a CNS, you will provide expert specialist nursing care, advanced clinical assessment, and holistic support to patients throughout their treatment journey. Working closely with consultants, the multidisciplinary team, and the Private Care leadership team, you will drive excellence in clinical practice, service development, and patient experience.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver expert specialist nursing care for private gynaecological oncology patients across outpatient, diagnostic, procedural, and inpatient pathways.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner undertaking advanced clinical assessments, care planning, and coordination of complex patient journeys.
- Work collaboratively with the NHS Gynae-Oncology team to ensure integrated, safe, and effective patient care pathways.
- Provide specialist advice, education, and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Lead and contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, efficiency, and the premium private care experience.
- Support consultant surgeons and the multidisciplinary team in delivering timely, seamless pathways, including pre-operative optimisation, post-operative reviews, and follow-up care.
- Promote high standards of practice through clinical leadership, audit, research, and evidence-based care.

Our Contact Centre and reception services provide an essential 24/7 point of contact for patients, colleagues, visitors and the public, including the handling of emergency calls. As Contact Centre Manager, you will lead these services and the teams that deliver them, ensuring they remain responsive, reliable and focused on excellent customer service. Main duties of the job

A key part of the role is maintaining a strong, positive team culture through visible leadership, clear expectations, coaching and open learning. Job summary
We are looking for a self-motivated research nurse to lead a team of research nurses/ practitioners working on phase 1 clinical trials in the Cambridge Cancer Drug Development Team (CCDD). You will provide specialist advice and support and act as a resource for the wider Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre.
Significant phase 1 oncology clinical trials experience is essential.
The CCDD is a multi-disciplinary group of doctors, nurses/CRP's, data mangers and a trial coordinator led by Dr Simon Pacey. The CCDD Team's research goals are to optimise the "science-led" clinical application of novel therapies, including "first into man", phase 1 and associated pharmacology studies.
The CCDD is part of the Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre (CCTC) and benefits from a major commitment from Cancer Research UK, recognising Cambridge's position at the forefront of cancer research.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the management and delivery of clinical research for the CCTC within the CCDD team ensuring that it is conducted according to ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. They will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support for phase 1 oncology clinical trials. This includes the provision of specialist research related education and training.
You will be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to research delivery within the clinical setting. In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team they will facilitate good quality research, lead and develop the research nurse team and monitor standards of care. This will involve liaising closely with the Speciality Research Lead and Team Lead to ensure equity of portfolio.
