Job summary

Come and join us for an exciting opportunity in Older Adult CMHT at Southport, Hartley Hospital. We are working towards delivering a thoroughly modern mental health service that offers excellent standards of care and meaningful interventions to our service user population.

As a team we support older adults aged over 70 with a functional mental illness and we offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment to anyone with concerns about dementia.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is interested in developing as a practitioner and person. Development opportunities will be available and regular clinical supervision and support will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a community based post which will required the post holder to travel regularly and in a timely manner between multiple sites in order to perform their duties.

Main duties of the job

Working in an Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, you will be expected to deliver high quality, recovery focused mental health interventions to the population of North Sefton. This will include working with service users with a functional or organic mental illness. This may range from:

  • a brief therapeutic intervention with some key working responsibilities
  • supporting a more complex package of care to meet the needs of a vulnerable client.
  • Completing routine reviews of memory medication to be able to feed back to MDT.
  • Supporting more senior team members with our duty role

This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills learned in training and to move forward with an exciting career with lots of opportunities for the future. Change is constant in NHS services, so we are looking for people who are adaptable to enable us to deliver high quality, sustainable services.

At the heart of all we do is our commitment to 'perfect care' - care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable and efficient. We support our staff to do the best job they can and work alongside service users, their families, and carers to design and develop future services together. We're currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.

Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
